The Unique Autism School is dedicated to providing high-quality early intervention services to children with autism and related disabilities. We utilize methods derived from Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to improve socially significant behaviors such as communication, language, social skills, self-care, and academic skills. Our goal is to identify and reduce problem behaviors that interfere with learning, including tantrums and self-injurious behaviors.
Behavioral Therapist
This is a full-time on-site role as an Applied Behavior Analysis Technician at our center located in Thirumala, Thiruvananthapuram. As a technician, you will be responsible for implementing behavior analysis procedures to help children with autism improve their behavioral and social skills. This includes conducting assessments, implementing behavior plans, collecting data, and working directly with the children.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor's / Master's degree in Psychology or a related field.
- License issued by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
- Effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of behavioral intervention strategies.
- Background in psychology or a related field.
- Experience working with children with autism or related disabilities.
- Certification or coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a plus.
- Experience working in an ABA clinic or school setting is a plus.

Occupational Therapist
This is a full-time, on-site employment opportunity as an occupational therapist at our center in Thirumala, Thiruvananthapuram. As a therapist, you will be responsible for implementing comprehensive assessments to help children with autism improve their motor skills and sensory integration. This includes conducting assessments, implementing therapy plans, collecting data, and working directly with the children.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments on children to determine their needs, functional limitations, and possibilities for progress.
- Develop tailored therapy programs based on assessment results, taking into account the child's goals and abilities.
- Utilize various therapy methods and activities to enhance children's motor skills, sensory integration, coordination, and cognitive abilities.
- Offer counseling and support to children and their parents/guardians, addressing the emotional and psychological aspects of disabilities.
- Regularly monitor children's progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and maintain accurate records of therapy sessions and outcomes.
- Participate in Unique Autism School-organized outreach events, workshops, and awareness campaigns promoting disability rights and inclusivity.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in occupational therapy and incorporate evidence-based techniques into therapy sessions.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- State license or eligibility.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Speech-Language Pathologist
This is a part-time, on-site employment opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist at our center in Thirumala, Thiruvananthapuram. As a therapist, you will be responsible for implementing comprehensive assessments to help children with autism improve their speech, language, social, and cognitive communication. This includes conducting assessments, implementing therapy plans, collecting data, and working directly with the children.
Responsibilities
- Preventing, assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children.
- Performing assessments and diagnoses, and developing treatment plans for language and swallowing disorders.
- Combining traditional therapies with new and innovative techniques.
- Providing support and advice to children, their caregivers, and family.
- Compiling extensive notes on children's progress and adjusting therapies and treatment plans where necessary.
- Motivating children, especially when progress is slow and they seem despondent.
- Knowledge about Avaz AAC is a plus.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor's / Master's degree in speech-language pathology, speech therapy, or equivalent
- License issued by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
